Project Management Professional (PMP®)

The full delivery cycle, from a vague request to a closed handover. The course follows the structure of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) — Eighth Edition (by Project Management Institute - PMI), working through its six core principles, seven performance domains, and the five focus areas that reintroduce process guidance in non-prescriptive form, and maps that material onto the domains of the current PMP® Examination Content Outline.

What it covers

  1. Principles and mindset

The six core principles of the Eighth Edition, what changed from the Seventh, and how principle-based guidance is meant to be used on a live project rather than recited.

  2. The performance domains

The seven performance domains as areas of practice, the outcomes each is accountable for, and how they interact rather than run in sequence.

  3. Focus areas and process guidance

The five focus areas and the reintroduced set of non-prescriptive processes — how to use them as a reference for what work is commonly done, without treating them as a mandatory checklist.

  4. Tailoring, development approach and life cycle

Choosing between predictive, adaptive, and hybrid approaches; sizing governance and documentation to the project; and defending a tailoring decision.

  5. Planning and estimating

Scope definition and decomposition, estimating techniques and ranges, scheduling and the critical path, cost baselines, and resource planning.

  6. Project work and delivery

Execution, change control, quality, procurement and contracts, acceptance, and handover to operations.

  7. Stakeholders, team and leadership

Stakeholder identification and engagement, team development, servant leadership, conflict, and negotiation.

  8. Measurement, uncertainty and value

Selecting metrics that inform a decision, earned value in its practical form, forecasting, risk and opportunity management, and reporting value delivered.

  9. AI, PMOs and procurement

The Eighth Edition's expanded coverage: where generative AI and automation are genuinely useful in delivery, the role and models of a PMO, and modern procurement.

  10. PMP exam preparation

Practice questions and worked scenarios across the three Examination Content Outline domains — People at 33%, Process at 41%, and Business Environment at 26% — situational-judgement technique, and guidance on the application, contact hours, and eligibility evidence.
