Portfolio Management Professional
Choosing what to do and what to stop. The course follows the structure of The Standard for Portfolio Management — Fourth Edition (by Project Management Institute - PMI), working through the seven portfolio management performance domains, and maps that material onto the five domains of the PfMP Examination Content Outline.

What it covers
Principles and context
The purpose and definitions of portfolio management, its principle-based framing in the Fourth Edition, and how it relates to organizational strategy, strategic business execution, and organizational project management.
The portfolio life cycle
Initiation, planning, execution, optimization, and monitor and control — the information and decision flows between them, and the role of the portfolio management information system.
Portfolio strategic management
Strategic alignment, the portfolio charter, building and maintaining a portfolio roadmap, and responding to strategic change.
Portfolio governance
The governance hierarchy of principles and objectives, governance design factors, the sponsor and governance board roles, decision rights, oversight, and authorisation.
Capacity and capability management
Capacity management and planning, balancing supply against demand, and assessing and developing the organisational capability the portfolio depends on.
Portfolio stakeholder management
Identifying and analysing stakeholders, planning engagement, and communicating with an executive audience whose attention is scarce.
Portfolio value management
Negotiating expected value, planning and measuring value realisation, reporting it credibly, and sustaining benefits after components close.
Portfolio risk management
Risk at portfolio level rather than aggregated project risk: exposure, appetite and thresholds, response and escalation, and managing opportunity as well as threat.
PfMP exam preparation
The five Examination Content Outline domains — Strategic Alignment, Governance, Portfolio Performance, Portfolio Risk Management, and Communications Management — with practice questions, worked scenarios, and guidance on the experience-based application and panel review.
