Change Management Professional (CCMP®)
The people side of delivery, taught to credential depth. The course follows ACMP’s Standard for Change Management — Second Edition (by the Association of Change Management Professionals - ACMP), the standard that the CCMP exam has been based on since 1 April 2026. It works through the five process groups in sequence, plus the common change management concepts and the ACMP Code of Ethics that the exam also tests.
What it covers
Foundations and common concepts
The purpose and scope of the Standard, the vocabulary the exam relies on — adoption, readiness, change saturation, sponsorship — and how the process groups relate to one another rather than run as a rigid sequence.
Process group 1: evaluate change impact and organisational readiness
Defining the change and why it is required, identifying and analysing impacted stakeholder groups, assessing culture, capacity and readiness, and interpreting readiness findings so they actually inform the strategy. The heaviest domain on the exam.
Process group 2: formulate the change management strategy
Developing the high-level approach with sponsors and change leaders, defining the sponsorship model, sizing the change management effort, and assessing the risks to adoption and to benefit realisation.
Process group 3: develop the change management plan
Turning strategy into the plan set — communication, sponsorship, stakeholder engagement, learning and development, resistance management, measurement and sustainment — and gaining approval for it.
Process group 4: execute the change management plan
Running the plan, engaging stakeholders through transition, managing resistance as it surfaces, tracking adoption against the measures set, and adapting the plan on evidence rather than instinct.
Process group 5: close the change management effort
Evaluating whether the change was adopted and the benefits realised, transferring ownership to the business, capturing lessons learned, and releasing the change resources.
Sustainment and adoption measurement
Why behaviour reverts in the third month, reinforcement mechanisms, and building measures that show adoption rather than activity.
The ACMP Code of Ethics
The conduct standards the exam tests directly, and the situations — sponsor pressure, withheld information, conflicts of interest — where they bite.
Comparison with other models
Where Lewin, Kotter, ADKAR and Prosci sit relative to the Standard, so practitioners can work in organisations that have already adopted one of them.
CCMP exam preparation
The 150-question, three-hour format across the seven exam domains, the scenario-based question style, practice items weighted to the published blueprint, and guidance on the education and experience evidence the application requires.

Aligned to ACMP’s Standard for Change Management — Second Edition, which the CCMP® exam has used since 1 April 2026 (exams on or before 30 March 2026 used the First Edition). The exam is 150 multiple-choice questions over 180 minutes, drawn from the Standard and the ACMP Code of Ethics across seven domains; domain weightings quoted in class material are approximate and must be confirmed against ACMP’s published exam blueprint before each delivery, as must the current eligibility rules. ACMP and CCMP are marks of the Association of Change Management Professionals. ManagerDesk.uk is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by ACMP and is not a Qualified Education Provider; these materials prepare candidates but do not themselves confer a credential or ACMP-recognised instruction hours.
